involve many groups: Altar Guild, Ushers, LEMs, Acolytes and Choirs. At the 10:30 a.m. services during the school year on first Sundays, our children’s choir sings for this family-oriented service. The adult choir sings the subsequent Sundays, performing traditional hymns and gospel music on the third Sundays. St. Mark’s Church offers a variety of opportunities to join in our parish life. We invite you to visit activities and attend meeting and get acquainted with our members. Call the church secretary for times, dates and leader contacts for these listed ministries and other continuing groups and volunteer programs.

Adult Education convenes at 9 a.m. on Sundays throughout the school year, covering a variety of topics for newcomers and old-timers alike. Many groups initiate and lead classes on subjects of their expertise. Our Rector also holds Newcomers’ Coffees, our confirmation series, and liturgical topic forums.

Youth Ministries
include opportunities for adult leadership and youth participation in Sunday School for preschool through sixth grade; Acolytes, who assist the clergy during services; Sunday toddler care, supervised by an adult and assisted by students in fifth grade and up; and of course our Junior and Senior High Youth Group, for students in sixth grade through High School.

St. Mark’s Parish Day School is open to toddlers beginning at age 3, with continuing academic studies through sixth grade, enhanced by a varied field study program, along with additional resource subjects of music, art, Spanish, library and computer.

Education For Ministry (EFM) is held on Monday evenings throughout the school year. This four-year college course covers Old and New Testament, church history and theology, enabling lay church members to better embark on their chosen path of ministry.
Music programs range from the traditional choir programs (children and adult choirs) to our Handbell Choir and Summer Choir all set to organ or piano. And just for fun, we occasionally slate a musical "Follies" program for fundraising and farewells.

Mission Outreach touches the hearts of many here at St. Mark’s while helping in community programs for the homeless and the hungry.

Women’s Soup, our current open-to-all women’s group augments our Episcopal Church Women (ECW), meeting once per month for a weekday dinner at a local restaurant. Call the office for the latest Women’s Soup dinner date and place.

Men’s Group meets for a hearty 7 a.m. Wednesday breakfast in town to gear up for its support activities, fellowship and fund-raisers.

Health Ministry volunteers lend a heart and a hand helping those in the community and parish through several network opportunities such as our Lay Care Committee and Huntington Hospital Health Partnership program.

Legal Lions consists of active and retired judges and lawyers with many specialties. They assist in our community with referrals, advice and workshops.

Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEMs) are trained lay people who read the lessons and assist the clergy during services.
